Great grandmother of Kayla, Joshua, Ryan, Isabella, Alex, Sydney, Julia and Sam. Aunt of Mary Lou Jerge and the late William Rohrback. Daughter of the late William and Mary Lyall. Sister of the late Margaret Rohrback. Janet was a Junior Deputy of Aries Triangle #131 for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin-In-The-Fields Episcopal Church 2587 Baseline Rd., Grand Island where funeral services will be held Saturday September 19 at 11:00 AM.

Elizabeth M. Henderson
Sep 10, 2026Elizabeth M. Henderson, 89, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 10, 2026. The daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (MacTaggart) Henderson, and sister of the late Lionel Henderson, Elizabeth was born in Buffalo, NY in August 1937, spending the majority of her life within the city and the surrounding areas. Graduating from UB in 1968, she was the first in her family to receive a college degree, leading to a thirty-year career as an English teacher with Buffalo Public Schools at Fosdick-Masten and Buffalo Alternative. In the summer of 1976 she became the first Buffalonian and single woman to adopt a foreign child, traveling weeks later to Washington DC to take part in the ERA march, epitomizing her lifelong position as a social pioneer. Her inability to judge, her everlasting generosity, and her dedication and sacrifice for others define her life. This very dedication provided excellent, love-filled upbringings spanning two generations, making sure she was able to provide opportunities she was unable to experience as a child and young adult. From humble beginnings, to becoming single-handedly accomplished and universally loved, her life was a life well-lived, and a tough benchmark that one can only hope to match. Elizabeth will be missed greatly, forever revered, and forever loved. She is survived by her daughter, Karla, and grandson, Joshua.

Barbara Ann Hall (Klock)
Sep 06, 2026August 18,1935 - September 6, 2026. Of Grand Island, NY, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 18, 1935 to her loving parents Fred and Ann Klock. Barbara was married to her loving husband, Robert Hall, for 57 years. Together they built a life centered around family and shared many cherished memories. Robert preceded her in death in 2018. Barbara dedicated 40 years of her life as a Registered Nurse graduating from E.J. Meyer School of Nursing and worked at ECMC till her retirement in 1994. Caring for others was more than a profession for her—it was a calling. Throughout her career, she brought compassion, patience, and kindness to the countless people whose lives she touched. Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Kathleen (Frank) Kovacs, MaryBeth Hall. Her son Christopher Hall preceded her in death in 2025. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren: Emilie (Quarry) Trest, Dr. Alexander Kovacs MD, Giado Hall, and Brooklyn Hall. She was incredibly proud of them and treasured the time she spent with her family. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Klock and his wife, Josephine Klock, and her sister, Linda Anderson, along with her amazing nephews and nieces. Barbaras greatest legacy was the love she gave to her family. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her strength, and the love she had for those around her. She also was very faith filled. Barbara and her husband were life long members of St. Stephens R.C. Church. They believed strongly in Catholic Education sending their children to St. Stephens School. She was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan. She had season tickets for many years and attended all 4 Super Bowls! She was often referred to as Buffalo Barb! Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her 91 years. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 12, at 10:15 a.m. at St. Stephens R.C. Church 2100 Baseline Rd, Grand Island NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Niagara Hospice and the Erie County SPCA. Barbara loved animals, a love she passed to her 3 children and grandchildren. Step grandfather of Luke (Sheree) Copelin. Gerald was a Marine Corps veteran servicing in Viet Nam. He enjoyed baseball, bowling, golf and motorcycles. He was also a great dancer.
