David L. Zelonis, Dave or “Z”, a much loved son and brother, passed suddenly April 4, 2022 at the age of 65. Dave is survived by his mother, Louise Zelonis, his sisters, Laureen (Doug) Hess, Lynn (Dave) Mikulski, and nephews; Cody, Tucker, and Ben Hess, Quinn, Travis, and Jack Mikulski. His father, Lawrence Zelonis, passed in 2013. Dave had a love of music and possessed an amazing knowledge of artists and their bands. He played guitar, bowled, and enjoyed cruising on his boat in the Niagara River and Lake Erie. In years past he golfed with his father. Dave had many good memories of times spent with family and friends, including the crazy family poker games. Dave loved growing up on Grand Island.

We sure will miss you brother.

Saddened to learn why my calls and text went answered. We still talk about our last trip around GI with Dave at the wheel of his boat. Too many good memories to list. In my most recent conversation with Dave, he expressed in his own subtle way how much he appreciated what his family and friends had done over the years. Specifically referring to his brother in law repairing his cloth dryer, “It’s nice to have someone that can repair things like you used to do.” There will never be anyone quite like Dave.
