<p>Patrick James Hehir, born December 27,1963 in Buffalo NY. He was sent to his eternal home on March 1, 2025 in Grand Island NY after a long illness. Pat, as he was affectionately known, was a light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended but for the way he lived and the profound impact it had on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Patrick is survived by his loving wife Karianne (Nelligan) Hehir, his brother Rob Hehir, and sisters Helen Farrell and Kathleen Light. He also leaves behind two children Cristie (Robert) Mokhiber, Jeffery (Bridgette) Raby, his pride and joy six grandchildren; Robert and Hayleigh Mokhiber, and Jayson, Jordan, Blake, and Jaxson Raby, and several loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Winifred (Shea) Hehir. After graduation from West Seneca West, Patrick went on to serve our state at Attica Correctional Facility where he retired after 30 years of serving in 2017. Outside of work Patrick enjoyed spending time with his family, long drives on his motorcycle, boating, hunting, and fishing. Those who knew Patrick will remember his overwhelming laughter, and his rare gift for making people smile and laugh especially with his story telling skills. The celebration of life service to honor Patrick James Hehir will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Js White Elephant in Lackawanna at 1 pm.
