Roy Edwin Tilghman

Of Grand Island passed away under the care of Hospice. The son of Roy Gerald and Evelyn Amelia Tilghman of Tonawanda. Roy served in the US Army and the Army Reserve until 1983 when he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, Corps of Engineers. He worked as a Construction Manager on projects for Acres International. He was a life long scuba diver and avid reader, with a passion for travel. He and his wife traveled extensively around the world. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Janice Eleanor Tilghman and his children Jacqueline Ann Tilghman, Roy Henry (Melanie) Tilghman and predeceased by daughter Karen Susanne (Steven) Piershalski; with numerous cherished grandchildren and a great-grandchild who brought endless pride and happiness to his life. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
